The light duty cable tray roll forming machine is designed for the fully automatic, batch production of light-duty cable trays used in commercial and industrial cable management systems.
This machine is suitable for manufacturing cable trays that carry electrical, data, and communication cables in both horizontal and vertical installations, with a maximum tray width of 304 mm.

The production line features stable forming, accurate punching, flexible size adjustment, and high efficiency, making it an ideal solution for light to medium duty cable tray applications.

LT12 / LT19 Light Duty Cable Tray Profile Description

The LT12 / LT19 cable tray is manufactured from flat steel sheets with a standard length of 3.0 meters, roll formed into a “U” shaped rigid channel.

  • LT12:

    • Side height: 12 mm

    • Bottom width: up to 76 mm

  • LT19:

    • Side height: 19 mm

    • Bottom width: 101 mm to 304 mm

To ensure proper ventilation, Ø7 × 28 mm slotted perforations are punched on the bottom of the tray, allowing airflow throughout the entire cable tray system.

Why We Use Different Machine Designs for Different Width Ranges

For light duty cable trays, we normally recommend two different machine solutions:

  • Small width machine:

    • Bottom width: 50–100 mm

    • Manual spacer adjustment

  • Large width machine:

    • Bottom width: 100–600 mm

    • Heavy-duty adjustable structure

The reason is simple:
If one single machine is used to cover a very wide range (50–600 mm), the rollers would become too small and weak for large-size production. This would reduce machine stability and shorten service life.

By dividing the width range into two machine designs, we ensure:

  • Stronger forming structure

  • Longer roller lifetime

  • More stable production quality

Production Line Layout

Automatic Decoiling → Leveling → Servo Feeding → Punching → Cutting → Conveyor → Roll Forming → Receiving Table

This layout ensures continuous production, precise punching positions, and accurate final dimensions.

Main Components of the Cable Tray Roll Forming Machine

1. Hydraulic Decoiler

As standard configuration, we recommend a 5-ton hydraulic decoiler with loading car.

2. Punching System (Optional CNC Punching)

The punching section can be configured in two ways:

  • Combined punching molds are used

  • Normally 4–5 sets of molds can cover bottom widths from 100 mm to 600 mm

3. Main Roll Forming Machine

The main forming machine adopts a double cantilever gearbox drive system with PLC-controlled width and height adjustment.

  • One set of rollers produces all sizes

  • Size changing by adjusting the machine frame

  • Universal molding machine moves as a whole

  • Fast specification change for width and side height
